Valerie Cincinelli, the NYPD cop charged with paying her boyfriend to kill her estranged husband, has hammered out a plea deal with federal prosecutors, it was revealed Friday.
“It’s the government’s understanding from conversations with defense counsel that we have reached an agreement for a plea in this matter,” Assistant US Attorney Catherine Mirabile said in a hearing in Central Islip federal court of the deal struck with the suspended officer.
The details of the agreement were not disclosed.
Cincinelli is charged with two counts of murder-for-hire & one count of obstruction. She faces a maximum of 10 years in prison on the top count.
Defense lawyer James Kousouros said Cincinelli, who is locked up at the Metropolitan Detention Center, had signed the plea agreement. Due to COVID-19 restriction, Kousouros has been unable to meet with his client in-person.
Cincinelli is scheduled to formally take the plea in court Feb. 12 at 9 a.m.
She is accused of paying boyfriend John DiRubba $7,000 to hire a hit man in 2019 to assassinate her estranged husband, Isaiah Carvalho Jr., & DiRubba’s own 15-year-old daughter.
After DiRubba was busted for another crime, he confessed to the bizarre murder-for-hire plot and began working as a confidential source for the FBI, wearing a wire to capture Cincinelli’s damning admissions.
He told authorities that his cop-girlfriend wanted her hubby dead amid a bitter divorce & custody battle over their son. Cincinelli also has a daughter from a prior marriage.
A source told The Post that Cincinelli allegedly wanted DiRubba’s daughter bumped off because “she was getting in the way” of their twisted plan.
