This was a really great interview. Premier is like a music historian having been brought up by a mother who loved music. He talks about being taken by his mom to see the Jackson 5 when he was a kid and being influenced by country, blues & zydeco music having been raised in Houston.
Besides his own group with Guru, Gang Starr, Preemo goes through the list of artists he's worked with including Nas, D'Angelo, M.O.P., Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G. and many more.
