Wyclef Jean and Lauryn Hill were a part of the celebrated rap group The Fugees. They were also lovers despite the fact that Jean was married at the time.
Over the years many have speculated as to the real reason the group disbanded. Jean has decided to come clean in a new book he's written titled "Purpose: An Immigrant's Story," which the New York Post got a look at.
In the book Jean writes that Hill led him to believe that he was the father of her first child. As it turns out the real father was Bob Marley’s son, Rohan.
“In that moment something died between us. I was married and Lauryn and I were having an affair, but she led me to believe that the baby was mine, and I couldn’t forgive that.” Jean writes.
Jean blames Hill's lie for the break up of The Fugees after just two albums. The second one being the six times platinum 1996 classic The Score.
"She could not longer be my muse,” Jean wrote. “Our love spell was broken.”
"Purpose: An Immigrant's Story" will be released tomorrow, September 18. You can grab a copy from Amazon.
