Audio After The Jump
A couple of days ago we published a story about Scott Stapp that featured a 15-minute video in which he claimed his record company had robbed him of royalties, been unfairly targeted by the Internal Revenue Service, was broke, homeless and living in a Holiday Inn.
Throughout the clip Stapp detailed this sinister plot against him, while maintaining that he is 100% sober and has turned his life over to God.
It now seems that the Creed lead singer may not have been truthful about maintaining his sobriety.
TMZ reports that he was placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold on November 13 after officers with the Madison County Florida Sheriff's Department found him on the side of the road. He appeared to be wasted and insisted that someone was trying to poison him.
He was later let go. At some point he filmed the video which was released via his Facebook page on November 26.
His estranged wife, Jaclyn Stapp (née Nesheiwat), has filed for divorce from the 41-year old singer. She told TMZ that he is on a wild drug binge that includes steroids, prescription pills, weed, cocaine, PCP, Special K and Crystal meth.
Scott's alleged paranoid delusions have led him to believe ISIS will attack his children and has him hearing voices.
On Thursday Stapp blamed his IRS problems on President Obama. Listen to the audio obtained by TMZ below.
"In 2012 I was doing a promotional tour for my book Sinner's Creed and I went on Fox News," Stapp said on KISS 92.5's Roz and Mocha Show. "I expressed a little concern and disappointment with President Obama. Withing two months of that public statement, that's when the IRS began to freeze my accounts. I believe that the IRS situation is definitely the result of me expressing my dissatisfaction with President Obama. Absolutely... one hundred percent."
This doesn't look like it's going to end well.
