Virginia producer Lex Luger has become a big name in hip hop in a very short amount of time.

In 2010, the 19-year old born, Lexus Lewis had heads nodding from coast with hits for Officer Ross "BMF", Waka Flocka Flame "Hard In The Paint", "O Let's Do It", Fabolous "Lights Out", Soulja Boy "Speakers Going Hammer" and Slim Thug "How We Do It", to name a few.

Lex has started 2011 off fast start as well, producing "H.A.M" for Jay-Z and Kanye West.

In this Samuel Rogers directed clip, Lex talks about how he started to develop then hone his craft. He explains how he went from playing the drums, to using an MPC 2000. Once he got a computer and mastered Cakewalk and Fruity Loops software, it was a wrap

Some people have labeled Lex's beats as repetitive, but when someone like Kanye wants to work with you, and pay for your beats you must be doing something right.

"H.A.M. really came about in New York City. we did See Me Now [My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy]. I had played him a lot of beats, he liked the ones -- not that I expected him to like," Lex said. "I left like 8 beats with him... he called me about two weeks later. He said he wanted for sure 2, that was one of the ones."
