Vallejo, California rapper Lil Theze was killed Thursday, October 21, during an attempted robbery.
According to various reports, Theze and 2 other men approached retired Oakland police captain, Ersie Joyner, at a gas station and attempted to rob him.
At some point Joyner was able to pull out his gun and started firing, fatally wounding Lil Theze.
Theze's accomplices returned fire and hit Joyner 6 times, then fled the scene.
He was taken to Highland Hospital for surgery and is recovering in the ICU.
