The beautiful and talented Alicia Keys stopped by 106 & Park yesterday. She talked about a variety of topics including the evolution of her new single "Girl on Fire."

"The evolution of Girl on Fire it really came from me always wanting to be able to declare that I'm a girl on fire," Alicia said. "Sometimes we don't always feel like that. Or sometimes things get difficult, but even in a world that's filled with catastrophe we are not backing down. And we got our head in the clouds."

Alicia discussed her experience at BET's 2012 Black Girls Rock event that was held October 13th at the Paradise Theater in New York. She performed and received a special honor that night. The show will air November 4th on BET.

"The energy in there was crazy. The performances were crazy. It's really about us honoring each other and our regality because we're just that hot."

The multiple Grammy Award winner also talked about how proud she is of her new album, Girl on Fire.

"This is by far the best album I ever did yet," she said. "I love this record. I love how it sounds. I love the feeling of it. I really feel like it's going to be a soundtrack to people's lives. The thing is it's called Girl on Fire, but I think it's really about the journey to becoming a girl on fire. So it's everything inside of there. You know sometimes when you're feeling insecure or when you're feeling fearful and you're not sure which way to go. When you're claiming your power - all of those things and the journey just continues. So when you hear this music I promise it's going to knock you on the floor."

Girl on Fire will be released on November 27th. You can pre-order your copy now on iTunes.
