HOUSTON (Fox26) - It's been a little more than a week since the Astroworld tragedy, but the wounds from that fateful day remain unhealed.

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner confirmed via Twitter Sunday evening that Ezra Blount, the 9-year-old boy, who was on life support days after the music festival organized by Travis Scott, succumbed to his injuries.

Officials continue their investigation into what caused the now 10 people to die and injure hundreds of other attendees.

Ezra's father recently told FOX 26 he was on his shoulders at the concert and as he was crushed by the crowd he passed out. Thereby sending his son falling to the ground where it’s believed the 9-year-old was trampled.

"I’m angry because this has altered our family. This has altered Ezra," Mr. Blount said. "It’s altered even the legacy of our family because we don’t know if Ezra is going to recover from this and Ezra is my son’s only son."

Ye has gone by a lot of nicknames throughout his career, but none have stuck quite like "Yeezy" & now the man who created it is naming his price for the moniker that made Kanye billions.

Philly rapper Beanie Sigel is the man Ye recently credited for the Yeezy handle ... shouting him out in a "Drink Champs" interview & saying he's been trying for years to pay Sigel a lump sum of cash for the name.

Chico DeBarge got busted for drug possession ... and the motorhome the R&B singer was living in is now impounded.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... cops got a call back on Nov. 6 about a man causing a disturbance inside a motorhome, and when they got there they made contact with Chico and noticed his RV had an expired registration of over 6 months.

We're told police impounded the vehicle and officers allegedly found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the ride.

The DeBarge singer was then arrested and booked for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia ... and he was later released from custody on a promise to appear citation.

Chico's admittedly struggled with addiction for years, and he's been arrested 3 other times -- in 2007, late 2019 and early 2021 -- for drug possession.

As we first told you ... during the last drug bust, cops say Chico ID'd himself as James, his older brother from the family singing group, before being properly ID'd during the booking process.

Sounds like Chico learned at least one lesson ... we're told he didn't try to claim to be someone else this time.

A rock band's lead singer got a little too hardcore during a live show -- pulling down her pants and taking a major leak on a dude's face ... who seemed to be all about it.

This wild incident went down Thursday night during the Welcome to Rockville festival at the Daytona International Speedway -- where Brass Against performed to a ton of fanfare & eventually, to a ton of grossed-out spectators who witnessed this unsanitary scene.

Frontwoman Sophia Urista was rocking out during their set & performing a cover Rage Against the Machine's "Wake Up" -- when she & the band apparently invited a guy in the front row to come on up & receive a golden shower ... to which he happily obliged.

Unclear exactly if he knew what he was in for -- but he seemed more than willing to lie down on stage (with a can mounted to his forehead) & let Urista do her thing.

That thing, as it turned out, was to wiz all over his head & body & it was captured in graphic detail from folks who were no more than 15 or 20 feet away. She unbuttoned her pants, pulled down her panties & then got into a squat position & hovered.

Soon, the live stream started & she let it rip for a good 10 seconds or so. The downpour of urine absolutely buried the man's face & he even spits some out which came shooting up looking like a spray of water. Yeah, it's freaking gnarly & gross as hell.

Brass Against has since apologized for the stunt -- on behalf of Urista too, it seems -- taking to Twitter to write, "We had a great time last night at Welcome to Rockville," Brass Against tweeted. "Sophia got carried away. That's not something the rest of us expected & it's not something you’ll see again at our shows. Thanks for bringing it last night, Daytona."

QUITO, Ecuador (AP) — A prolonged gunbattle between rival gangs inside Ecuador’s largest prison killed at least 68 inmates & wounded 25 on Saturday, while authorities said it took most of the day to regain control at the Litoral Penitentiary, which recently saw the country’s worst prison bloodbath.

The killing erupted before dawn at the prison in the coastal city of Guayaquil in what officials said was the latest outbreak of fighting among prison gangs linked to international drug cartels. Videos circulating on social media showed bodies, some burned, lying on the ground inside the prison.

The shooting lasted around 7 hours, officials said & then new clashes were reported in part of the prison in the afternoon.

Presidential spokesman Carlos Jijón finally announced after nightfall that “the situation is controlled throughout the penitentiary.” He said about 900 police officers had taken control of the situation.

In the initial fighting, inmates “tried to dynamite a wall to get into Pavilion 2 to carry out a massacre. They also burned mattresses to try to to drown (their rivals) in smoke,” said the governor of Guayas province, Pablo Arosemena.

“We are fighting against drug trafficking,” Arosemena said. “It is very hard.”

The bloodshed came less than two months after fighting among gangs killed 119 people at the prison, which houses more than 8,000 inmates.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) —A woman is under arrest in the deadly shooting of a mother on a Brooklyn street.

Claudia Banton, 42, was taken into custody Monday in Jacksonville, Florida. She appeared before a judge Tuesday afternoon.

Banton is charged in the execution-style killing of Delia Johnson that was caught on camera on August 4.

Surveillance video showed the suspect walk up to Johnson and shoot her in the head at point-blank range.

“I never dreamed of losing any of my children to this kind of violence,” her mother told CBS2 at the time.

Johnson was a single mother who worked hard to care for her child and provide a better life.

Investigators say the two women were once friends, but the motive remains unclear.

The mother of Jashyah Moore, the 14-year-old New Jersey girl who ran away from home & was found safe Thursday after a monthlong search, has been arrested & charged with child endangerment.

Jamie A. Moore, 39, of East Orange, faces 2 counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, which include "allegations of physical abuse & also neglect," according to a statement Friday from the Essex County Prosecutor's Office in New Jersey.

Moore's teen daughter & 3-year-old son have been removed from her custody by the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency, officials said.

Stephens had previously said that the child protection agency did not have an open case for the family when Jashyah, who did not appear to be registered in school, went missing in October.

She had last been seen at a deli on Oct. 14 in East Orange.

Jashyah spent the past month in locations throughout New Jersey and New York City and was recently staying at a shelter in Brooklyn, Stephens said.

"The young lady appears to have run away," he said. "And she did not want to make herself known to anyone as to where she was. She seemed to be ... more so at ease where she was."

Wisconsin’s governor on Friday put 500 National Guard members on standby as the high-profile homicide trial of Kyle Rittenhouse nears its end.

Closing arguments are expected Monday in the trial.

Rittenhouse, 18, fatally shot 2 men & wounded a third during protests in Kenosha following the police shooting of Jacob Blake last year.

He is charged with intentional homicide, reckless homicide, attempted intentional homicide & other charges in the Aug. 25, 2020, shooting.

The Wisconsin National Guard will stage outside Kenosha, available should they be requested by law enforcement, Gov. Tony Evers said.

“I urge folks who are otherwise not from the area to please respect the community by reconsidering any plans to travel there and encourage those who might choose to assemble and exercise their First Amendment rights to do so safely and peacefully,” Evers said in a statement.

Rittenhouse, who was 17 at the time of the shooting, went to Kenosha armed with a semi-automatic rifle. He has said he was there to protect businesses following unrest in the city.

He testified he fired in self-defense after he was attacked. Anthony Huber, 26, & Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, were killed in the shooting & Gaige Grosskreutz, 27, was injured.

Prosecutors argued that Rittenhouse was unjustified in using deadly force.

The prosecution said Rittenhouse, who lives in Antioch, Illinois, about 20 miles away from Kenosha, was among those who were “drawn to the chaos” in the Wisconsin city & who added to the chaos there.

The protests were in reaction to the police shooting of Blake, a Black man, by a white officer on Aug. 23, 2020. Blake was left paralyzed from the waist down.

After closing arguments, the jury will begin deliberations.

Rittenhouse faces life in prison if convicted on the first-degree intentional homicide charge, and up to 60 years on each of the other homicide-related charges. He is also charged with two reckless endangerment counts, which carry up to 12 years each & a misdemeanor weapons charge that carries a potential nine-month sentence.

Sean Kingston allegedly punched & pulled a firearm on a music video director who had been staying in his home & we're told cops are now involved.

The music video director, who works under the handle GXDLIKE, tells TMZ ... he had been working & living at Sean's Los Angeles-area home for about 3 months when Sean allegedly assaulted him.

The guy claims Sean summoned him from the downstairs area of the home around 2 AM on Nov. 5 & wanted him to film something for the singer, but he says his phone was dead.

The music video director alleges Sean got frustrated & punched him in the face, then dragged him into the hallway & pulled out a firearm ... telling him to pack up & get out. Law enforcement sources confirm that GXDLIKE has filed a police report with the LAPD for the incident.

The director claims the alleged attack left him with cuts on his face, but no major injuries.

There's nothing foul about President Biden using the word "negro" when referring to the old baseball league ... at least according to the steward of the league, who's defending & applauding him for saying the word.

No doubt you've seen the clip of the Prez speaking on Veterans Day at Arlington National Cemetery & flubbing in a big way ... saying he'd "adopted the attitude of the great negro at the time." Cringeworthy, for sure, but to be fair Biden misspoke & eventually cleared it up intending to call out the great Negro League player Satchel Paige.

Bob Kendrick, President of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, tells TMZ ... not only was it crystal clear to him what Mr. Biden meant to say, but it would have been "harmful" if he'd used any other word.

Bob says he was surprised at the online fallout -- people ticked off POTUS used such a dated term -- because he says there's a reason the word is still on walls of his museum. As Bob put it, they still use "Negro" to preserve the league's nearly 30-year history -- from 1920 to 1947. He compares it to the NAACP, which also hasn't changed its name, despite the fact (almost) no one uses the "C" word nowadays.

Further, he says "It was an honor that the President made a point to honor Satchel Paige, who happened to be one of the greatest pitchers" in the history of ANY baseball league.

As for the Prez calling Satchel a "great Negro" -- Bob says he knows the point Mr. Biden was trying to make & it was 100% complimentary.

Jon Gruden has taken a page from the playbook of longtime Raiders owner Al Davis.

The former Raiders coach has sued the NFL & Commissioner Roger Goodell in Nevada state court.

“Through a malicious & orchestrated campaign, the NFL & Commissioner Roger Goodell sought to destroy the career & reputation of Jon Gruden, the former head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders,” the lawsuit alleges.

The complain contend that Gruden was “forced to resign” as a result of the persistent leak of supposedly secret emails from the Washington Football Team investigation.

“When their initial salvo did not result in Gruden’s firing or resignation, Defendants ratcheted up the pressure by intimating that further documents would become public if Gruden was not fired,” the lawsuit filed Thursday on Gruden’s behalf alleges. “They followed through with this threat by leaking another batch of documents to the New York Times for an October 11, 2021 article. On October 7, 2021, Jon Gruden was the head coach of the Raiders on a 10-year, $100-million contract. By October 11, 2021, he had been forced to resign.”

Obviously, Gruden got what he deserved based on the content of emails he sent to former Washington executive Bruce Allen. However, the emails should not have been weaponized to take Gruden out. Through this litigation, much more undoubtedly will be learned regarding who leaked the emails & why.

The teen suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a man whose body was found on the side of Interstate 595 in Davie last month is the son of a famous R&B artist.

Broward Sheriff's Office officials announced Wednesday that they're searching for 17-year-old Marcus Ramone Cooper in connection with the Oct. 8 killing of 24-year-old Tyron Arthus.

Cooper's father, Marcus Cooper Sr., better known as Pleasure-P, is a former member of the group Pretty Ricky.

On Thursday, Pleasure-P posted an Instagram video apparently in reference to the allegations.

"Anybody can say anything, until a judge and a jury decide to say 'this is what's what, this is the evidence, this is woo-woo,' then we can go from there but today, innocent until proven guilty," he said. "They can say a million things, but, how do they know? I have a lot of questions as a father."

Authorities said the teen & Arthus were in a car together when Cooper ordered Arthus out of the car in the eastbound lanes of I-595 near Hiatus Road.

That's when Cooper shot Arthus multiple times & left him to die on the side of the highway, authorities said. Officials don't know the motive for the killing.

"Leaving someone left to die on the side of the road is an atrocity we can't accept," Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony said at a news conference Wednesday.

Tony said investigators haven't been able to find the teen, who has been involved in other crimes in the county.

"He is an individual that we have interest in for other criminal activities that have happened here in Broward County, so it's not a surprise that from what we've gained that this individual is somebody now that we're seeking to bring in for murder," Tony said.

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (AP) — A former high school basketball coach is being investigated by the Rhode Island attorney general’s office after former players came forward to say he for years asked male student-athletes to disrobe while alone with him so he could perform what he called body fat tests.

Aaron Thomas, 54, had been a teacher & coach at North Kingstown High School since the 1990s before he resigned in June, when the reports came to light.

He is not facing any criminal charges. A spokesperson for state Attorney General Peter Neronha confirmed the investigation this week but could not provide details.

Thomas’ attorney, John MacDonald, said that the tests using skinfold calipers were done with parental consent & that his client has hundreds of signed consent forms collected over a period of several years as proof.

However, the consent forms viewed by The Boston Globe make no mention of nudity.

Thomas simply found it easier to test players when they were nude, the attorney said.

“The testing started on the upper body with the shirt off & go lower with underwear on or off,” he told the newspaper. “It was simply quicker to do with underwear not in the way.”

Thomas measured the adductor muscles of the inner thigh but did not touch the groin area, MacDonald said.

The consent form mentions assessing body fat composition, testing muscle strength & development & was “designed to help athletes to reach their full potential.”

Jennifer Lima said this week that her now-adult son recently told her that he was checked by Thomas. She said it’s possible she signed a form for fat testing, among all the forms parents sign for kids playing sports, but she did not consent for him to be undressed.

The tests first came to light when a former student told the school department in 2018. At that point, school administrators told Thomas that testing could be done only in the locker room with at least two adults present.

More former students came forward this year, with some alleging Thomas would ask them, “Are you shy, or not shy?” Students who said they were not shy removed their underwear for the test.

North Kingstown police told school officials in September that they were not pursuing criminal charges. But local police are now cooperating with the attorney general’s office.

The school committee is also investigating.

Thomas got another job at a private middle school in South Kingstown in September but was fired last week after the allegations became public.

Brooklyn rapper Casanova is facing multiple new charges in the federal case against alleged members of the “Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation,” a superseding indictment viewed by Pitchfork confirms. The grand jury charged Casanova, whose real name is Caswell Senior, with attempted murder and assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering. He’s also facing new assault and weapons charges in addition to previous charges of racketeering conspiracy and narcotics conspiracy.

The superseding indictment states that “on or about October 24, 2020, in the Southern District of Florida, Southern District of New York, and elsewhere,” Casanova and Jayecee (real name: Jarrett Crisler, Jr.) “knowingly attempted to murder an individual and assaulted that individual with a dangerous weapon” and “shot at a rival gang member in Miami, Florida.”

“Mr. Senior has been and will continue asserting his innocence on these and all charges,” Casanova’s attorney James Kousouros said in a statement to Pitchfork.
