Drake is admitting that he had an epic bad day on Thursday (February 13). The rapper spent part of the morning venting on Twitter about being misquoted by Rolling Stone regarding derogatory comments he denies he made about Kanye West in an interview with the publication, the press being "evil" and being knocked off of the cover in favor of late actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

12350623280?profile=original

Drake also pledged not to do any more magazine interviews.

After taking a day to reflect, the October's Very Own boss has issued a statement via his website. In it he apologizes for the Hoffman comments and attempts to patch things up with RS.

With today being the 5th anniversary of So Far Gone I figured it's fitting to return to it's place of its origin in order to clear the air about an extremely emotional day. I completely support and agree with Rolling Stone replacing me on the cover with the legendary Phillip Seymour Hoffman. He is one of the most incredible actors of our time and a man that deserves to be immortalized by this publication. My frustration stemmed from the way it was executed. The circumstances at hand are completely justifiable (on the magazines behalf), but I was not able to salvage my story or my photos and that was devastating. They ran the issue without giving me a choice to be in it or not. I would have waited until it was my time because I understand the magnitude of the cover they chose but I just wasn't given that option and that made me feel violated. I apologize to anybody who took my initial comments out of context because in no way would I ever want to offend the Hoffman family or see myself as bigger than that moment. I am still the same person. Today I was forced out of my character and felt the need to react swiftly. These days are the worst ones. Waking up after a great night in the studio and it's your day to be picked apart. After dwelling on it for a few hours or days you will come to the conclusion that you brought it on yourself almost every time. So here I am having that moment. I once again apologize to everybody who took my cover comments the wrong way. I respect Rolling Stone for being willing to give a kid from Toronto a shot at the cover. I guess this is a day to learn and grow.

Sincerely,

The Boy

Hot 97 radio personality Angie Martinez just launched her new website The Angie Review today. Nicki Minaj called in to talk with her today.

Topics included the possibility of pulling a Beyonce with her next album The Pink Print, her relationship with Drake, people getting upset at the Malcolm X artwork for her song "Lookin Ass Nigga" and speak on pissing some people off with the song.

12350617466?profile=original

On the reaction to "Lookin Ass Nigga"

I wasn't trying to p*ss people off. And I don't even think the majority of people are p*ssed off. I just think it's a great conversation to have. It's many records that come out daily and they're nothing but bashing females. And I think that I am in a position to put a record out that women can feel empowered by in our way.

12350617666?profile=original

On the Malcolm X cover art for "Lookin Ass Nigga"

I apologize about that. It was like, I had this big gun in the video and someone sent me that picture and said 'Hey you should use this.' It was just almost parallel in my opinion because he has this big gun ready to shoot at a lookin ass bleep. And so that's how I looked at it.I looked at it like, 'Yo, this is one of the most memorable people in black history that really voiced his opinion no matter what.' And I understand how my intent was overlooked. And I definitely didn't want to offend the family or his legacy. This record is to have fun and talk about. It's not to be disrespectful to someone's legacy, so I took it down. It wasn't the official artwork anyway.

On the release date for her next album "The Pink Print"

The Pink Print is not gonna have a release date. You'll never know when it's coming until it just comes.

Video After The Jump

STAR talks the Michael Dunn trial in Jacksonville, Florida, Shaneka Torres discharging a firearm at McDonald's, singer Frank Ocean being sued for copyright infringement again, Cam'ron Giles introducing a line of fashion capes, the NY Yankees spending $155 million for Japanese player Masahiro Tanaka and college athlete Michael Sam's heart-broken father

Radio legend Troi Torain (STAR) always delivers hard-hitting objective truth. As a culture critic he is vicious, as a businessman he is relentless, as a luminary he is un-matched.

12349958484?profile=original

Considered a radio pioneer by many, STAR has set precedents on the urban landscape and was recently inducted into News One's "Top 20 Black Radio Jockeys Of All Time."

STAR & BUC WILD made the national stage on MTV (1999) but it was their radio show on New York's Hot 97 and Power 105 (2000 - 2006) that secured their place in Hip-Hop history.

Torain's resume includes The Source magazine, MTV Networks, Hot 97, Power 104.1, Power 105.1, Pulse 87, Hip-Hop Weekly magazine, Vladtv, Thisis50, 100.3 The Beat, shot97.com and VH1 (The Gossip Game).

This clip is from STAR's LIVE show (12noon -- 2pm) on http://shot97.com.

Drake's new interview with Rolling Stone has been a red hot topic in the media and on social networks the last 24 hours. In addition to dissing Macklemore, the Young Money emcee is quoted as saying less than favorable things about Kanye's West's Yeezus album and Fabolous.

12350611493?profile=original

“There were some real questionable bars on there. Like that ‘Swaghili‘ line? Come on, man. Even Fabolous wouldn’t say some sh*t like that," Drake reportedly said when asked about Yeezus.

12350611873?profile=original

This morning Drake head to Twitter to express his anger with the publication for not just misquoting what he allegedly said about West's album, but for making it all up. The October's Very Own CEO is also angry Rolling Stone made the decision to ditch his cover in favor of deceased actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

Video After The Jump

On this morning's episode of "The Realness," Peter Rosenberg discussed Drake's comments in Rolling Stone about Macklemore's text message to Kendrick Lamar after winning the 2014 Grammy Award for Best Rap Album for The Heist.

As we previously reported, Macklemore posted a text message he had sent to Kendrick on his Instagram account telling the Black Hippy emcee he should have gotten the award for "Good Kid, M.A.A.D City," instead.

12350608280?profile=original

Drake told Rolling Stone that Macklemore should have kept that to himself and posting the text came off looking insincere.

"That sh*t was wack as f*ck. I was like, 'You won. Why are you posting your text message? Just chill. Take your W, and if you feel you didn't deserve it, go get better — make better music.' It felt cheap. It didn't feel genuine. Why do that? Why feel guilt? You think those guys would pay homage to you if they won? This is how the world works: He made a brand of music that appealed to more people than me, Hov, Kanye and Kendrick. Whether people wanna say it's racial, or whether it's just the fact that he tapped into something we can't tap into. That's just how the cards fall. Own your sh*t."

12350609871?profile=original

Rosenberg says Drake is all up in his feelings because Macklemore didn't acknowledge his Nothing Was The Same album.

"[Drake's] opinion was tainted by the fact that he's really just salty that [Macklemore] didn't big up his album," Rosenberg said.

Is Rosenberg right? Is Drake mad because his album got overlooked at the Grammys and by Macklemore?

Who deserved 2014's Grammy Award for Best Rap Album will be debated for a while, but we do know that the winner thought the trophy should have gone to someone else.

Macklemore's "The Heist" won over Drake's "Nothing Was The Same," Jay Z's "Magna Carta Holy Grail," Kanye West's "Yeezus," and Kendrick Lamar's "Good Kid, M.A.A.D City."

The Seattle rapper sent a text message to Kendrick after the show admitting he thought K. Dot deserved the award. Macklemore went as far as to post the message on his Instagram account.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Drake talked about the text. He didn't think it was really sincere.

"That shit was wack as fuck. Own your shit."

12350630699?profile=original

What do you think about what Drake's comments? Was Macklemore keeping it 100 or just putting on a show for the fans who didn't think he deserved the honor?

In the fourth episode of Noisey's Chiraq, we catch up extensively with Lil Durk, the next superstar of the Drill scene and go to a show with fellow 300 / OTF member Lil Reese.

It's the night of Lollapalooza, but that doesn't matter because inside and outside the venue, the crowd is packed to the walls. Afterwards, we roll through the South Side of Chicago with Durk and meet his family, learning about the life from which he came, and why he "terrifies the city."

Video After The Jump

Samuel L. Jackson made headlines coast to coast on Monday when he clowned the hell out of KTLA news anchor Sam Rubin on live television when Rubin got him confused with Laurence Fishburne.

Jackson's response was hilarious, but G-rated. Comedian/actor Mike Epps let's us know what Jackson really wanted to say in this spoof.
