EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey — You guys better stop sleeping on Young Jeezy. The Atlanta rap king pulls out all stops during his big show appearances. The Snowman had the highlight of the night at Sunday's Summer Jam concert, bringing out both Drake and Jay-Z on his set. Young set it off with his massive stadium knockers/ club bangers, such as "Who Dat" and "Bottom of the Map." He always seems to have the upper hand on shows such as these, at any concert for that matter, because the sound of his music is huge, and the crowd loves his anthems. Jeezy said he wanted do something for the ladies, and with a couple of thumps of bass preceding him, Drake ran out for "Best I Ever Had." Tens of thousands sang along as the energetic Canadian bopped and performed his hit. "You the f---in' best!" he yelled. Drake, and you could say everybody else on the lineup, was trumped when Jay-Z came out during "Put On." The Tri-State area crowd filled the home of the New York Giants with applause for the musical icon. Jay spit the verse to his Jeezy remix, then laid his game down with "D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)," the new song that has been getting played on Hot 97 nonstop. Jay simply walked off the stage when he was done. Jay-Z, Young Jeezy, More At Summer Jam The Diplomats — Jim Jones and Juelz Santana — were the show closers. Three years in row now, the collective from Harlem have been the chosen send-off act. "I heard somebody got killed," Jones said, sarcastically referring to Jay-Z's musical burial of Auto-Tune. "They say my man Auto-Tune got killed. Is this a funeral or we came to party?" Jones then went into "Byrd Gang Money." Juelz Santana came out for a few favorites, like "Hey Ma," then the Dips addressed the elephant in the room: There'd be no reunion with Killa Cam'ron at Summer Jam. It seems like he's really done with Jimmy and Juelz. "We here, and we love Cam," Jim said. "You wanna do something as if Cam was here?" They played "Suck it or Not." Soulja Boy Tell'em came out as a guest for "Turn My Swag On." Ryan Leslie came out for Jim's "Precious," and as expected, Ron Browz brought the Auto-Tune for "Pop Champagne," as did DJ Webstar for "Dancing on Me." Other Summer Jam guests included Red Man and Method Man, who came out during Mary J. Blige's set. It was big to see Lil' Kim do "Lighters Up" as one of T-Pain's surprises. The Queen Bee was grinding all over the singer during her new song, "Download." Pain also brought out DJ Khaled and Ace Hood. Jadakiss left the stage in a hurry after his set. He went on pretty early in the show, before the sun had even gone down. The Lox member did bring out Busta Rhymes for "Respect My Conglomerate," but a few of his major tricks outta the hat didn't solidify. No OJ Da Juiceman, Gucci Mane or DMX, and a big rumor that he was going to bring out Cam'ron wasn't true. Also on the bill were The-Dream (his guest was Fabolous), Day26, Elephant, Mavado and Serani, whose "No Games" had the audience chanting, "It's, it's Serani!" Source:MTVNews

Young Buck just dropped his mixtape Back on My Buck Sh--, and his stance on his affiliation with the G-Unit (at least in this interview) has softened a bit. "Much respect to them dudes, but I'm doing my thing right now," Buck said. Like Lloyd Banks, Buck said he's officially off Interscope but still signed to the G-Unit. "To be honest, I'm trying to get away from that situation," he said in Atlanta. "No sooner than I get away from that situation, you'll be hearing from Young Buck." By that, he means a full album. He has secured distribution through Sony Red for his Cashville Records. C-Bo and the Outlaws are still down with him. If there's one thing Buck has learned from having his differences with 50 Cent and his pitfalls in the music industry, it's that the game is "90 percent business and 10 percent talent." Sticking with the business theme, he said fans should check for his track "Letter to the Labels." "That's letting the labels know I'mma do it with or without you," he said. "Cashville Records, we got this." Buck is shooting a movie called "No Warning" with Omar Gooding. Source:MTVNEWS

Early box office estimates for this past weekend indicate Disney and Pixar's Up has nudged Warner's vulgar comedy The Hangover for the top box office crown. Up, in its second week of release and riding superb reviews, mustered $44.244 million to bring its domestic total to an impressive $137.3 million. The Hangover, who had already impressed with the second highest Friday gross ever for an R-rated comedy, pulled in $43.275 million. That gives it the third-best opener for an R-Rated comedy behind Sex and the City. Universal had hoped Land of the Lost would be battling for the top box office spot. Poor reviews dealt a fatal blow to Will Ferrell's latest as it managed a mere $19.5 million opening, far lower than the $30 million estimates. It now unofficially claims the dubious distinction of being the summer's biggest flop thus far. The other newcomer, My Life in Ruins, crumbled to a paltry $3.2 million opening. Poor reviews likely held it back as well. The complete box office results for June 5-7 are as follows: 1. Up: $44.244m 2. The Hangover: $43.275m 3. Land of the Lost: $19.524m 4. Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian: $14.65m 5. Star Trek: $8.4m 6. Terminator Salvation: $8.175m 7. Drag Me to Hell: $7.342m 8. Angels & Demons: $6.5m 9. My Life in Ruins: $3.2m 10. Dance Flick: $2m Next weekend sees Eddie Murphy tries to be funny again in the family comedy Imagine That squares off against the Denzel Washington and John Travolta hijacking thriller The Taking of Pelham 123. My money is on Up to come out on top yet again. Source:HDRoom

David Carradine's hanging photo has sparked both new outrage and theories all at once. The David Carradine hanging photo was published in Thailand, but the David Carradine hanging photo has outraged the Carradine family. All over the Internet, the David Carradine death picture has David Carradine Hanging Photo Sparks New Outrage, Theories attracted fans looking to see their idol once more - no matter what - and for those hoping the David Carradine hanging photo can provide any new hints as to how it happened. David Carradine's death picture has his hands tied in front of him as he is hanging from his closet. The hanging photo was released by a tabloid Thailand newspaper, capitalized on Carradine's death taking place in Thailand. The death picture was reportedly taken originally by the forensic team at the scene. Ever since David Carradine's death, theories have ranged from Carradine being murdered, to him committing suicide, to him dying by auto-erotic asphyxiation. The search for David Carradine's death picture may be gruesome, but aside from the disturbing curiosity, people are looking for any possible answers to his death. Since Carradine's hanging photo had his hands tied up in front of him, it sparked the theory that someone must have been with him in the hotel before his death. This puts both the murder theory and the auto-erotic theory in the lead. There were further reports from Thai police that Carradine had a rope around his genitals. The death picture shadowed much of Carradine's body, so those who study it may not find such a rope. The legendary Carradine family is already threatening legal action against the David Carradine hanging photo. Legal action will also be taken against any American publication that publishes the death picture. As for the remaining question as to why Carradine was dead, the autopsy results that would settle the matter are still weeks away. Until then, the murder and suicide and auto-erotic theories will still be competing with each other, even as Carradine is being laid to rest. SEE PHOTO HERE Source:Associated Content

ST. LOUIS -- Jake Shields made a successful leap in weight, as he defeated former EliteXC middleweight champion Robbie Lawler with a beautiful guillotine choke on Saturday in the Strikeforce “Lawler vs. Shields” main event at the Scottrade Center. “I’m a big fan of Robbie’s,” Shields said. “He’s one of my favorite fighters out there. Just happened to be my night tonight.” Shields had problems getting the fight to the ground in the early going -- a potential problem against the big-time striking skills of his opponent. Lawler used his solid takedown defense to keep Shields at bay. Plan B for Shields seemed to be to keep Lawler in tight to avoid his deadly hands. It was a good plan. From the clinch, Shields locked up a standing guillotine before jumping to guard. Lawler (16-5, 1 NC) tried to slam his way out of the submission but it was to no avail. He tapped out of the catchweight bout at 2:02 of the first round, giving Shields the big win. “I settled in a little bit,” Shields said. “Once I got it, I wasn’t letting go.” After the fight, Shields (23-4-1) made it clear he wants to stay up in weight to face Strikeforce middleweight champion Cung Le. He might have to wait a while, considering Le recently stated there might be an interim champion crowned due to his busy acting schedule. Rogers Stuns Arlovski in 22 Seconds Rogers got to Arlovski's chin. Brett Rogers told anyone who would listen that he was going to knockout Andrei Arlovski in the first round. Not too many people believed him, but they may start listening to the undefeated heavyweight after his 22-second dismantling of the former UFC champion. Rogers (10-0), after taking a short leg-kick, stormed in on Arlovski, backing him into the cage with a left hook that seemed to stun him. Along the cage, Rogers unleashed a combination that culminated with a right hook that separated Arlovski from consciousness. “I felt like he was hesitating,” Rogers said. “I just went after him. I was hungry.” The surprising win puts Rogers at the top of the list of heavyweight title contenders for Alistair Overeem’s Strikeforce crown. “I’m going to keep it going,” Rogers said. “I love this sport. I’m ready for anybody. Most importantly, I want that title.” Arlovski (15-8), meanwhile, will have some soul-searching to do after suffering back-to-back knockout losses. Diaz Taps Smith, Wins Fourth Straight Nick Diaz continued his successful run, as he notched his fourth consecutive victory with a rear-naked choke submission of Scott Smith. Diaz (20-7) was extremely impressive over two-plus rounds, battering Smith at every turn. His eccentric personality gets all the headlines, but his defensive boxing is a big key to his success. Smith possesses some heavy hands, but he could not find his mark, as Diaz cut angles and slipped nearly every big shot he through. “Don’t believe everything you see on TV,” Diaz said. “It’s all part of the show.” In the end, the frenetic pace Diaz set was too much for Smith (16-6), who succumbed to a slew of digging body shots. Diaz dropped him near the end of the second round, and Smith’s return for the third was in doubt. After struggling to his stool, he made it clear he would come out for round three. Though noble, it might not have been the best decision. Diaz pummeled him with a massive volume of shots before dropping him again with another body shot. He mercifully followed him to the floor this time and sank a fight-ending rear-naked choke. Smith tapped out at the 1:41 mark of the third round. “I know him. I know his training partners,” Diaz said. “They’re not good friends to have. We work a lot harder than they do. I think he should be training with us. I think he should come down and visit our school, spend some time with a real team.” Riggs picked Baroni apart. Riggs Dominates Baroni Joe Riggs thoroughly dominated Phil Baroni from bell to bell. The veteran mixed martial artist put on clinic, utilizing all facets of the game. Baroni did well to survive the 15-minute beating. Riggs (30-10) outwrestled Baroni in the first round, taking his back in the process. Though he could not sink the rear-naked choke, he did control the round. He kept Baroni off balance and never let the flamboyant New Yorker find his range on his feet. A frustrated and weary Baroni (13-11) could do little to muster any offense in rounds two and three, while Riggs began to tee off on the feet. He landed crushing combinations at will, swelling Baroni’s left eye in the process. In the post-fight interview, Riggs said he thought he broke both of his hands during the bout. He also made known his wish to fight Shields, the former EliteXC welterweight champion. Whitehead Outpoints Randleman Mike Whitehead earned a unanimous decision victory over former UFC heavyweight champion Kevin Randleman with identical 29-28 scores from all three judges. The tight back-and-forth affair began as more of a wrestling match than an MMA fight, but that worked to Whitehead’s advantage. After taking the first two rounds largely by taking Randleman (17-13) to the mat and working from the top position, Whitehead got a scare in the third. His conservative game plan got derailed by a Randleman left hook about two minutes into the round. It looked close to being over when Randleman pounced on his fallen opponent, clubbing him with punches. A totally defensive Whitehead (24-6) scrambled to his feet, however, and clawed his way back into the fight. Whitehead finished strong, landing a nice combination and scoring yet another takedown to secure the victory. Despite the win, Whitehead was visibly upset with his performance. He paced the cage shaking his head in disgust. Kyle KOs ‘Feijao’ Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante was supposed to fight for a title but was forced to the undercard when Renato “Babalu” Sobral dropped off the show. One has to question his motivation coming into his bout with Mike Kyle. “Feijao” did not look fit as he entered the cage, and it showed in his performance. After a lackluster first frame, which saw little action from either fighter, Kyle turned up the heat in the second. “Feijao” hit a double-leg takedown to start the round and looked to be in control as he passed to mount and punished Kyle with punches. That would be it for Cavalcante’s offensive output. Kyle (12-6-1) seemed to find a second gear after escaping to his feet, while “Feijao” looked like a spent fighter. Kyle stalked the Brazilian before landing a crushing right hand that crumbled Cavalcante (7-2) to the canvas. He followed with three more rights that finished off “Feijao” before referee Mike England came to his rescue at 1:55 of the second period. Source:Sherdog.com

A recently released unauthorized album featuring Canadian rapper Drake will be the focus of a new lawsuit the entertainer plans to file. Drake is planning a lawsuit against Canadian Money Entertainment over the release, titled The Girls Love Drake. The unauthorized album, which was released May 28 by Canadian Money, includes songs from Drake's mixtape, So Far Gone, as well as other tracks. It was distributed by the Independent Online Distribution Alliance (IODA) on iTunes, Rhapsody and Amazon. According to Drake’s manager, Al Branch, Drake or his affiliated label Young Money is associated with the album. Currently, the rapper is at the center of a major bidding war between three major record labels. At the heart of the suit are uncleared samples for So Far Gone and two other mixtapes. Drake’s camp has gone on record saying it did not authorize The Girls Love Drake. A chief concern for Branch involves Young Money or October's Own, Drake's label, potentially being sued because the mixtape samples have not been legally cleared for use. Artists sampled for the mixtapes include rapper David Banner as well as singers Goapele and Colin Munroe. Source:Allhiphop

Although his Blueprint 3 album is not due until later this year, he's still a power player, according to The Source magazine's annual "Power 30" list. The long-running hip-hop magazine will land atop their annual list this year, when the magazine drops its new issue later this month. He's the frontrunner, said the mag, because he's an industry leader and a top businessman, boasting a portfolio that includes ventures with Live Nation, Rocawear, and a small stake ownership -- along with a group of investors -- in the NBA franchise, the New Jersey Nets. Other names on the list include Lil Wayne, Diddy, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Kimora Lee Simmons, and T-Pain, among others. Barack Obama (because of his influence on the new hip-hop generation) and the Black Eyed Peas' Will.i.an are also named as "Power 30" honorees. "The Black Eyed Peas is like one of the biggest groups on the planet. We go out to Brazil, you know, a million, two hundred thousand people is at our concert," Will explained to the mag. The "Power 30" issue features a coverstory from T.I. and his Grand Hustle crew, and what the rapper's hustle will be post-incarceration. The issue hits newsstand June 16th. Source:Ballerstatus

One of Lady Gaga's early supporters was Akon. Not only did he sign the reigning disco queen to his record label, Kon Live Distribution, but he has also lent his vocal talents to her breakout hit "Just Dance." And now that Gaga is a household name, he couldn't be happier to see her ruling charts and dance floors throughout the world. "She's incredible," he told MTV News. "That's my franchise player at the moment. Gaga's been so incredible." Akon says Gaga's rocket launch to fame is due to her industrious work ethic, and he thinks that every one of her hits is well-deserved. "At this point, she deserves every bit [of fame]," he said of the singer, who herself credits the gay community for helping make her successful. "If anybody went through grassroots, it was Gaga." While the mainstream has been discovering Gaga via radio play and her appearances on "Dancing With the Stars" and "American Idol," the hip-hop community has also been tuning in, especially after Kanye West reimagined her song "Poker Face." "I think she's a magnate to the industry in general," he said about Gaga's being embraced by the hip-hop world. "She's brave. She's fresh. She's different. She's bold. She don't give a damn. You gotta take her as she is. That's the beauty of it. You're forced to like her the way she is without no extra stuff added." And it's her no-nonsense attitude that makes Akon love her so much. "She's like a sister to me," he said. "That's like my girl. She's right here, in a headlock!" Source;MTV.COM

A really big rap tour is exactly what the game needs right now. A rep for Soulja Boy Tell'em told MTV News that the rapper will be joining Lil Wayne on tour this summer, along with Young Jeezy and Wayne's fast-rising protégé Drake. Sources in Wayne's camp told MTV News they are confident that a tour with at least some of the four players will happen. In May, Drake told MuchMusic about a similar tour that, at the time, was supposed to include Jay-Z. "God willing, if everything goes according to plan and everybody's schedule is in place, then I will be on tour with some amazing people," Drake said. "One of them being Jay-Z, one of them being Lil Wayne, one of them being Young Jeezy and one of them being me." Jay has lined up a tour this summer, with Ciara opening up some dates, that kicks off in Las Vegas on July 3. Thursday night from the Los Angeles Lakers game, Soulja Boy Tell'em announced the tour on Twitter. "TSA (Twitter Service Announcement) — I'm going on Tour with Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy & Drake this summer! Get ya tickets ASAP!!!!" he Tweeted. Dates for the tour are still being locked down. Drake has been working on Rihanna's next album as well as his proper debut album. Soulja Boy has been in the lab recording, as has Young Jeezy. Wayne told us on Sunday that his long-awaited Rebirth album is done. It's now scheduled for an August 18 release, although a new single has not been announced. "I wanted to grow, and show my growth as well," Wayne said after the MTV Movie Awards. "It's a difference from when you go in a room and come out and you're better and everyone says, 'How did you do that?' So with this album, I wanted everyone to see my growing pains." Wayne recently wrapped up his I Am Music Tour with T-Pain, Gym Class Heroes, Gorilla Zoe, Keyshia Cole and others.
