Report via Inside Edition --- Gamer and Twitch streamer Desmond Amofah has been found dead days after he uploaded a video to YouTube that left loved ones worried about his well-being, officials said. He was 29.
Sources said an investigation into the disappearance of Amofah, who was known online as Etika, led police to the Manhattan Bridge, where they found his belongings.
Items believed to be Amofah's found on the bridge that connects Downtown Brooklyn and lower Manhattan included a cell phone, New York State driver’s license, debit card, MetroCard and wallet, as well as a Nintendo Switch, laptop bag and assorted clothing, the police source said.
Amofah's body was pulled from the East River at Pier 16 near the South Street Seaport in lower Manhattan about 6:15 p.m. Monday, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Before he disappeared, Amofah recorded an 8-minute video in which he apologized to people he said he disappointed and discussed his mental health.
The medical examiner will determine Amofah's cause of death and the investigation is ongoing, cops said.
