Just about every person who met Chris Lighty came away from the experience with positive knowledge they could use going forward. Montreality recently caught up with Wyclef Jean, who remembered the former music executive fondly.
"I was at the funeral for Chris Lighty. Who don't run into Chris Lighty and feel his energy and his spirit? And I would say what did I get out of [being around] Chris Lighty? The most important thing is you're not supposed to settle for less. And the only thing that you can't do is what you can't dream. Anything you can dream you can make a reality. And that's some of the stuff that I learned from Chris Lighty," Wyclef said.
Wyclef also recalled the last conversation he had with Chris.
"The last time I spoke to Chris was a couple of months ago. And we was at a place called Primary Wave," Wyclef remembered. "And the conversation was me trying to 50 Cent to come to Haiti. That was our last conversation."
