Brooklyn, New York rapper Ronald "Ra Diggs" Herron is currently on trial facing a 21-count racketeering and murder indictment.

Prosecutors allege Diggs was a gang leader and crack dealer who was involved in the murders of Frederick Brooks (2011), Richard Russo (2008) and Victor Zapata (2009)

Diggs reportedly implicated himself in lyrics to some of his songs.

In the song "Man Down" he raps: “Empty shell casings on the ground / That’s man down.” Another called “Slow Down” warns, “See if he was smart, he would’ve shot me in the head / ‘Cause I can get you shot from a hospital bed.”

Government witness, Algenis Caraballo, who worked as Diggs' driver testified on Tuesday, June 10, that the rapper also had beef with Jim Jones of The Diplomats, starting in 2010.

Diggs was angry after getting brushed off by a Bloods gang affiliate of Jones. Diggs went to Jones' studio to confront the man, according to the New York Daily News.

“Take that Bloods sh*t outside!” Jones barked at him, Caraballo said in Brooklyn Federal Court.

Diggs angrily left the studio, shattering a window as he exited. Later that night he and a couple of his goons tracked Jones down at Sue's Rendevous in Mt. Vernon, New York.

“The DJ shouts out, ‘Ra Diggs is in the building!’ and Jim Jones observes Ra there and it’s like he’s seen a ghost, scared,” Caraballo told prosecutor Shreve Ariail. Jones quickly left.

Herron’s late enforcer at the Gowanus Houses, Tremaine (Cakes) Patterson, was “looking for an eye signal from Ra” to shoot Jones, the witness said.

Jones and his entourage quickly left the club.
