The end came at 4:08 of the second round when "The Axe Murderer" landed a devastating right hook, followed by a left hook that knocked the "All American" to the canvas. Silva quickly pounced on his downed opponent, landing several more punches before the referee called a halt to the fight.

Silva was ecstatic after the win which raised his record to 35-12 and 1 draw.

He’s a tough guy,” Silva told Fuel TV. “He put in a great performance. It’s the kind of fight I love to do. We’re there to fight. I am not there to run. I like to fight like that. Thanks a lot to Brian Stann for fighting me. It was a great show for the fans.

With the loss Stann fell to 12-6.

Wanderlei has always been one of my favorite fighters ever,” Stann said. “He’s one of the fighters that impressed me and made me want to get into the sport. I’m very proud to be part of his career. As much as this hurts right now, and my heart is broken, I’m proud I put my name on the line.”

In the co-main event Mark Hunt broke Stefan Struve’s jaw with a vicious left hook in the third round. Struve hit the canvas hard and was visibly dazed. Referee Herb Dean took a look at the 7 foot tall Struve and determined he was unable to continue.

My timing was off and I couldn’t put things together, but I was glad to take the win,” said Hunt, who stands just 5-foot-10. “It’s hard to fight a guy like Struve. He’s a big kid."
