In a statement, Herring said he dressed up like a rapper "like Kurtis Blow" for a college party, including wearing a wig and brown makeup. On Friday, it was revealed that VA governor Ralph Northam's med school yearbook page had a photo with a man in blackface next to a man in a KKK outfit. And soon afterwards, the VA lieutenant governor, Justin Fairfax, faced a sexual assault allegation. Herring is next in line for governor if Northam resigns and Fairfax doesn't assume the office, but Herring now faces a scandal, having admitted he wore blackface in college.
