Ismael Hernandez got a dose of street justice on Sunday, July 13, when a group of good Samaritans stopped him from stealing a woman's car from a San Diego parking lot.
According to the New York Daily News, the 21-year old would-be car thief jumped into a red minivan that had a woman and her child inside. He sped away before hitting a pole. A group of bystanders saw what was happening, rushed to the scene, dragged Hernandez out of the car, then beat him up and held him until police arrived.
"I see this guy in the backseat choking out the driver and there were a couple of other people in the window grabbing the keys from him,” said Aaron Leaf, who filmed the incident. “I was trying to figure out what was happening and once I realized, I didn’t feel sorry for the guy at all.”
Hernandez was arrested and charged with attempted carjacking, attempted kidnapping and attempted auto theft.
