The-Dream can take his time between recording his own projects because he's filthy rich from writing hit records for other artists.
He's penned hits for Beyonce, J. Holiday, Usher and Mariah Carey. One of his biggest hits to date is Rihanna's "Umbrella" and he was paid quite well for it. He told Radio 1Xtra host Tim Westwood he banked $15 million dollars for the record. A very hefty sum that helps him pay large amounts of child support to Nivea, with whom he has three kids and Christina Milian, the mother of one of his kids.
