World renowned MTV correspondent and radio personality Sway Calloway recently sat down with XXL to discuss 50 Cent's move from Interscope Records to Caroline/Capitol/UMG.
Sway thinks the move was long overdue.
"Honestly, I feel like 50 outgrew Interscope," Sway said. "The business mind that he's developed over the years. He's a master at branding. You know, he always has been. In terms of what it means for hip hop, that's just one more of us who are taking matters in their own hands and becoming autonomous and controlling everything. Why not? I mean, he's his own creation. He's shown and proved that he knows what he's doing. He knows the world of business. He's been very successful at it and honestly man, Get Rich or Die Tryin was the album of the millennium for me."
50's first release under his new deal will be an album entitled Animal Ambition. It will be released on June 3rd.
