Knight's fight with Sloan followed an altercation he had with security when he went to visit the Compton set of the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton.
The film is being executive produced by Ice Cube and Dr. Dre.
According to TMZ, the wrongful death lawsuit claims that Cube and Dre hired known gang members as security for the film set. The suit further states that the gang members incited the fight by threatening Suge, leading to the fatal hit and run.
Carter's wife and kids are also suing Tam's, alleging violent incidents regularly occur there.
There are seeking unspecified damages.
Knight is currently in jail awaiting his trial for murder and attempted murder.
