Paris Jones - February EP
Los Angeles emcee and producer Paris Jones brings listeners his latest street release, the February EP, on Friday, February 28.
The second in a series of 12 monthly Paris plans to release over the course of the year (Its predecessor, January, is also available for download, the project packs nine fresh tracks from the unsigned buzzmaker, seven of which are original instrumentals, one is a tribute cover to Queen's emcee Nas ("Made You Look") and the other is a full song ("Say No Way").
Paris' official statement about the project:
"This February EP, pretty much follows in the footsteps of J Dilla's albums "The Shining" and "Jay Loves Japan". Some of the songs are instrumentals but I will throw a couple tracks with me rapping in the mix. My reasons for making this series is to lead up to my official instrumentation album at the end of the year. Also its me reconnecting with my roots and doing what I love. I love music. I'm finding these Ep's to be very freeing for me and my creativity. It seems to be paying off. I got a text this week from my good friend Robert Stephens saying that Dilla's Mom (Maureen Yancey) said she likes my music. So that was just conformation that I'm helping the movement. I hope everyone is enjoying it."
