Tim Duncan has decided to retire after 19 seasons in the National Basketball Association. The power forward will be remembered as one of the all-time greats.
Duncan played his entire career for the San Antonio Spurs.
During that time he won 5 NBA championships, scored 26,496 points, pulled down 15,091 rebounds and blocked 3,020 shots during the regular season.
In the postseason Duncan scored 5,172 points, secured 2,859 rebounds and ranks first with 164 double-doubles.
He was a 15-time NBA All-Star, 2-time league MVP, 3 time Finals MVP and the only player ever to be selected to both the All-NBA and All-Defensive Teams in every one of his first 13 seasons.
Teams across the league thanked Duncan for his contributions via Twitter.
