In his youth Royce Da 5'9" used to play basketball and would find himself in a number of altercations with other players. These days he tends to stay out of trouble, but admits things got heavy as he entered the rap world. "It was actually repercussions to your words back then," he explained. "If you said you was gonna punch somebody in the face when you seen him, you have to punch him in the face when you see him. Now it's like taboo to be hands-on."
Royce then went on to say "as a OG you gotta learn how to ignore things," which led into him and Eminem's short-lived beef with Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler, the Creator. "If they run into me they don't have nothing to worry about," he said of the situation today. Shortly after Royce Da 5'9" spoke on Troy Ave's remarks on Capital Steez's suicide, telling DJ Vlad "I personally feel like when you're talking about an emcee battle there are boundaries and lines that you probably shouldn't cross - just for karma reasons...He's gonna probably regret saying that."
