L.A. Reid is about to make his first power moves as the head of Epic Records. A position he has held since July 2011.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Reid is signing both Ciara and Outkast to the label.
Both acts are very familiar with Reid, who gave them their first recording contracts when he was CEO of LaFace Records.
The move would be especially good news for Ciara. The singer went public in February 2011 with her unhappiness at Jive Records -- even penning a letter asking for her release.
"It is true that I have asked and I pray that my label will release me," the statement read in part. "A release would allow me to go be creative with people who care and understand me as a artist. In a short time, I will be able to bring to you a new music energy and a visual excitement!"
Looks like Ciara's wish may have come true although no official announcement has been made yet.
