It's been exactly 12 months since the passing of Kobe Bryant at the age of 41.
The basketball legend died on January 26, 2020 in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California along with his 13-year old daughter, Gianna; John and Keri Altobelli and their daughter, Alyssa; Sarah Chester and her daughter, Payton; Christina Mauser, an assistant coach and pilot Ara Zobayan.
Kobe was like a real life cheat code on the basketball court. By the time he retired on April 13, 2016, after spending his entire 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers, the Black Mamba had accomplished just about everything an NBA player could dream of.
Five championship rings, winner of 2 Finals MVPs, an 11x All-NBA 1st Teamer, a 9xAll-Defensive 1st Teamer, 4xAll-Star MVP in 18 appearances, 1x League MVP, and 1x Slam Dunk champion are just some of his achievements.
Kobe's 33,643 career scoring points rank him number 4 in NBA history.
After retiring, Kobe became a mentor and coach. Helping to hone the basketball skills of Gianna and other young kids with dreams of one day playing in the WNBA.
He happily embraced being a "girl dad" to Gianna, Natalia, Capri and Bianka.
His wife, Vanessa proudly carries on Kobe's legacy and gives fans glimpses into the Bryant's family life. Frequently sharing photos and videos on her Instagram page.
Number 24 will never be forgotten. His worldwide fan base won't allow that to happen.
