Ray Lewis had an incredible NFL career. In 17 NFL seasons as an inside linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens he made 2050 tackles, had 41.5 sacks and 31 interceptions. He may go down in history as the best to ever play his position. To top it all off he got a championship ring in his final game this season when the Ravens beat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII, 34-31.
He will be a first ballot Hall of Fame inductee when he is eligible in five years.
Football fans will still get to see plenty of Lewis on a weekly basis during the NFL season though. Mike Greenberg just announced that Lewis will be joining ESPN as an NFL analyst.
"I just think it's an awesome opportunity," Lewis said. "It kinda gives a different side to my personality. Not always aggressive. Not always getting ready for the next game."
