In February of 2012, we reported that rapper Tim Dog had died citing a Billboard report that stated he passed away at age 46 following a seizure and complications from diabetes.
Now it seems that Tim Dog, real name Timothy Blair, may have faked his death to get out of paying back debts to people he scammed out of money. Most notably Esther Pilgrim of Southaven, Mississippi.
Esther Pilgrim
Tim and Esther met on an online dating site in 2007. Tim visited her home and convinced her to give him $32,000 for an album that he never recorded.
Pilgrim reported the incident to police and Tim was arrested for fraud. After a plea deal the charge was reduced to grand larceny. In August 2011, Tim was sentenced to 14 days in jail and five years on probation. He was also ordered to pay Pilgrim $19,000 in restitution.
When Tim was reported dead, Pilgrim became suspicious and started to do some digging. She couldn't find a death certificate, where he died or where he was buried. After that Pilgrim, convinced that Tim had faked his death to avoid paying her back went to the prosecutor in Tim's grand larceny case, who also didn't believe the death story.
The Desoto County DA’s Office, filed a petition with a judge on May 21st To have Tim Dog’s probation revoked.

“I need proof,” Hernando Prosecutor Steven Jubera told Channel 3. “I need a death certificate showing that’s he’s dead because as far as I’m concerned, he’s alive. At the bare minimum he would get arrested and sit in jail until his court hearing."
One of Tim's closest friends is Ced Gee of The Ultramagnetic MC's. Ced told Channel 3 that he refused to attend Tim's funeral because his family couldn't produce a death certificate. He now believes the funeral never happened.
“I believe he was so angry that he had to pay me back,” said Pilgrim. "This is amusing to him."
Tim is best known for his 1991 diss track "F*ck Compton."
