We're very sad to report that legendary hip hop artist Grand Daddy I.U. passed away in his sleep Tuesday, December 13, 2022., according to his close friends Paula Perry and Da Inphamus Amadeuz.
No cause of death has been released publicly.
The 54-year old, born Ayub Bey, had been a fixture in the rap scene for 32 years as an emcee, producer and ghostwriter
Grand Daddy I.U. released four solo albums, beginning with "Smooth Assassin" in 1990.
He's best known for the hit songs "Something New," "Represent" and "Sugar Free."
