“At first I was ashamed,” says church organist turned trap producer Zaytoven. “They rappin’ bout drugs, they rappin’ bout robbing people… all type of stuff, and I’m a musician in the church.” The man born Xavier Dotson fell in love with music in church before moving to Atlanta and becoming a pioneer of trap production. During a recent visit to MASS APPEAL HQ, the legendary producer told the stories behind the making of many of his best-loved records.
