Kevin Hodge AKA Microphone Strong, age 23, was born and raised in the sugar hill section of Harlem and has lived there for his entire life. A place full of culture and definitely heavily influenced by hip hop music. Strong, who has been rapping only since the age of 19, has always had a way with words and but it wasn’t until he was asked to write a rap for a talent show he hosted in college that he noticed that music and being a raw influential MC was his passion.Strong attributes his love for hip hop to his idol’s: Nas, Biggie, 2pac, Mase, Eminem and Dipset. Currently Mic Strong has performed in several venues and is working on his first official mix tape entitled “New Jack City” where he freestyle raps over old school beats. Strong’s style of rap he defines as “chip on your shoulder rap”, a style constantly leaving him to feel as having something to prove lyrically and he says it keeps him on his toes and always ready to write a hard 16. Strong just recently released his first visual for his heavily barred “Who Dat” single which is currently turning heads.
