It has never been easy for women to earn respect in Hip Hop. They had too fit one of two positions, either she could really really rap, or she was first lady to a popular team. We called them "Fem-cee's." Now-a-days, many female rappers have traded in actual skill and decided to let sex sell. That's what most of their content consist of, and few people can speak on anything more in videos or performances other than "what she was wearing." Trading the "class" of a Boss Lady artist, for sexual popularity and acting "hoe-ish."
Enter Ace. A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma and the type of artist we pride ourselves on coming across and writing about. She holds true to an essence of hiphop and truly delivers with some hot street gospel. Original in her style and presented professionally, she immediately caught our attention and we knew others needed to know too. Her bars are well worded with a nice style. They hold true to the come up from nothing and survival of the fittest, but its clear...this is not a gimmick. She is from a struggle that often presents us with great creative art, and she is doing exactly that.
Her latest visual release titled "Twin Glocks" was filmed by @issasecret and perfectly matches the grit and overall vibe of the song to a T. With some dope effects and great cinematography, this is easily in our top 5's of 2020 so far. Check it out today. No clone rap. Just originality.
