Teena Marie was laid to rest yesterday (January 10) at a private memorial service in Los Angeles. California.
Motown founder Barry Gordy Jr, Stevie Wonder, Queen Latifah, and Smokey Robinson were among those there to pay their final respects to the "Ivory Queen Of Soul" according to Billboard.
Shanice Wilson and Robinson sang at the service. Gordy and Wonder both spoke about their experiences with Marie during the two hour service.
Marie's daughter Alia Rose Brockert, also memorialized her mom.
Marie died at age 54 in her L.A. home on December 26 of what authorities described as natural causes. The singer had suffered a grand mal seizure a month before.
Born Marie Christine Brockert in Santa Monica, Calif., Marie released 13 studio albums over the course of her career.
