HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Court documents show 39-year-old Robert L. Carter, a Houston-based pastor, is in jail for allegedly sexually assaulting a family member hundreds of times over a decade & impregnating her.
The sexual abuse started when the child was 7 years old. Carter is accused of performing sexual acts with the child & making her perform oral sex on him.
Carter is also accused of trying to bribe the child with candy for these sexual acts, which she says she refused.
The court documents allege Carter would force himself on the young girl while other family members were sleeping.
The abuse went on for years. The victim estimates she was sexually assaulted by Carter hundreds of times, becoming an almost daily occurrence.
The victim said when she turned 12, Carter started to rape her. She told investigators that Carter would stop at an H-E-B store on the way to school & sexually assault her in the back parking lot.
Investigators said that the victim told them Carter would take her to a church he worked at in Sunnyside to rape her.
When the girl turned 16, she reportedly had Carter's baby. She told investigators he dropped the newborn off at a nearby fire station.
Carter is held on a $100,000 bond in the Harris County Jail.

Rising artist Jonnie Morris returns with a new hit single titled "Big Stepper". The Detroit based artist is focused on creating music that combines the energy of modern hip-hop with the melodies of the contemporary alternative scene. Jonnie Morris grew up in a musical family. His father was a successful local R&B performer, who sadly passed away when Jonnie was only 5. This led to him seeking comfort and an escape from grief in the sound of music. In particular, Morris quickly discovered hip hop as a fitting outlet to channel his feelings.
Jonnie Morris' latest offering, "Big Stepper", takes listeners on an emotional ride of pure grit and resilience in the face of sheer adversity and opposition on the road to success.
A gritty, yet at times dark story of a young man who operates purely out of self defense against any who wish him harm, while also bringing listeners into his world of anger and pain transformed into pure art.
Jonnie Morris' influences include some of hip-hop’s most iconic luminaries, such as DMX, Notorious B.I.G, Eminem, and Royce Da 5’9. "Big Stepper" is a powerful and uplifting ode to hope and resilience in the face of adversity.
“I’m really excited for everyone to hear this single,” says Morris. “As a songwriter, I try to create music that can empower and encourage people to keep fighting and never give up. That’s what I want people to take away from this track.”
"Boro Hall's lyrical prowess with Richpockets signature production style. From the first beat drop, listeners are greeted with a sonic onslaught that refuses to let up. "Get It" is not just about the music; it's a statement of determination and ambition. The lyrics encourage listeners to chase their dreams relentlessly, putting in the work required to achieve success. It's a motivational anthem for those who refuse to settle for mediocrity and are willing to go the extra mile.

APOPKA, Fla. (AP) — An 11-year-old who is accused of taking a gun from his mother’s vehicle & shooting 2 teens following an argument at football practice will remain in custody for 3 more weeks, a judge in Florida ruled Wednesday.
The child began sobbing after the judge ruled against a request for home detention. He is charged with 1 count of attempted second-degree murder.
“It’s a tragedy for everybody involved, but this is a problem with the parents, this isn’t the children,” The child’s attorney, Robert Mandell said. “This started with a group of 13-year-olds bullying an 11-year-old. They wouldn’t let him eat, they attacked him, they threw him on the ground, he did what he could, didn’t even understand the consequences, which is clear, he gets in the back seat because he wants to go home.”
The child had been chased & attacked by the shooting victims, with a witness telling detectives 1 of the shooting victims had slapped him in the face.
The juveniles began arguing during football practice Monday night, Apopka police said. The younger child retrieved a gun from his mother’s SUV parked at the sports complex & fired a shot that struck 1 teen in the arm & the other in the torso.
Surveillance video showed 1 of the victims chasing the 11-year-old before the shooting.
“The mother stated that her son had known the gun had been inside the vehicle, but she had told him prior not to handle the gun & that the gun was for her protection,” the police report said.
She may face a second-degree misdemeanor charge of leaving a gun unsecured.
The victims were taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening. The teen who was shot in the torso underwent surgery & that the other teen was treated & released.
