With his longtime friend and groupmate Krayzie Bone hospitalized in critical condition, Layzie Bone of Bone-Thugs-n-Harmony reached out to fans via his Instagram account on Tuesday, September 26.
"In this challenging moment, as the immediate and Bone thugs family rallies behind my brother, we humbly ask for a moment of privacy," the 49-year old wrote. "Our family is facing the unexpected hospitalization of Krayzie Bone with strength, and your prayers are a beacon of hope. Soon, we’ll share an update, but for now, let us come together and keep our love and thoughts focused on his recovery. Your support means the world to us, and we truly appreciate your understanding during this time."
Born Anthony Anderson, Krayzie Bone was diagnosed with sarcoidosis in 2016. It's a rare inflammatory disease that causes cells in the immune system to form lumps called granulomas in organs of the body. The lumps form clusters of inflamed tissue, which can appear in any part of the body, but most commonly affect the lungs and lymph nodes. Other organs that can affect include the eyes, skin, heart, and other organs.
According to TMZ, the 50-year old rapper and singer was coughing up blood when he checked himself into an L.A. area hospital on Friday, September 22.
He has reportedly undergone 2 surgeries to stop the bleeding in one of his lungs and was placed in an induced coma to help the healing process.
