Lamar Odom's best friend Jamie Sangouthai has passed away at age 37 from a heroin overdose.
TMZ reports that someone called 911. Sangouthai was rushed to a downtown Los Angeles hospital where he was pronounced dead on Sunday, June 14.
Many may remember Sangouthai from his appearances on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. A video of Odom and Sangouthai, rapping shirtless in front of a mirror, obviously high on something, went viral in November 2013.
Khloe Kardashian, Odom's estranged wife, paid her condolences via Twitter.
**UPDATE** June 18
TMZ is reporting that Jamie Sangouthai died from a flesh eating disease and did not overdose on heroin. However, his death is drug related because a flesh eating bacteria caused by using dirty needles took his life.
The exact terms are necrotizing fasciitis -- bacterial skin infection -- and chronic intravenous narcotism -- IV drug abuse ... according to the L.A. County Coroner.
When Jamie arrived at the hospital to get his arm treated it was already too late to stop the rapid spreading infection.
