Just one season after leading the Houston Rockets to the Western Conference Finals, Kevin McHale has been fired as head coach.
The team, led by James Harden and Dwight Howard, is off to a 4-7 start. At times they have looked like they have no direction.
The West is so competitive owner Les Alexander and general manger Daryl Morey decided they couldn't afford to let the team fall behind further.
The team held a players only meeting on Tuesday. It appears that McHale had lost the locker room.
Assistant coach, J.B. Bickerstaff, will become take over the reigns as the man in charge. Chris Finch has been promoted to associate head coach.
Grueling decision for Rockets, who extended McHale year ago and think the world of as a man.
