Justin Bieber and his public relations team will probably be hard at work this week trying to diffuse negative feedback from a racist joke he made.
The Sun obtained footage of a Bieber making the offensive joke about African Americans while sitting with friends. One of them tries unsuccessfully to stop him from saying it.
"Why are black people afraid of chainsaws?" he asks before delivering the punchline. "Run n*gger, n*gger, n*gger, n*gger, n*gger."
The tape was reportedly made in 2011, during the filming of Justin's documentary, Never Say Never.
According to The Sun, Bieber offered a large sum of money to prevent the tape from leaking. Some think this will damage the 20-year old pop superstar's career, but his legion of fans are defending him by saying he has too many black friends to be racist and the tape is old.
What do you think about the brewing controversy? Should Justin issue a public apology? Will this hurt his career?
