Harlem, New York native and member of The Diplomats, Juelz Santana, appeared in Essex County Superior Court on Wednesday, March 14, to face charges stemming from an alleged incident at Newark Liberty International Airport last Friday, according to NorthJersey.com
He pleaded not guilty to two felony state weapons charges related to the 38-caliber Derringer pistol found by TSA agents in his carry on bags, and a felony drug possession charge that TMZ reports is for eight oxycodone pills that were discovered.
The 36-year old rapper, born LaRon Louis James, fled the airport when the items were found. He turned himself in to Port Authority Police on Monday, March 12.
Santana has a detention hearing on Monday March 19 in front of Judge Peter Ryan. His next court hearing is scheduled for April 9.
