Joey Badass recently sat down with Montreality for a wide ranging discussion. One of the topics was JAY-Z's new album, "4:44." Never lacking confidence, the Brooklyn native says he was the inspiration for Hov's latest project.
"Honestly, I feel like I was the inspiration to that album. Honestly, I know I was the inspiration to that album. It's nothing nobody could tell me," Joey said. I put a certain pressure on these OGs in the rap game, they know what they gotta talk about now. Cause they got this young nigga Joey Badass talking about this shit before they got the chance to talk about it. I feel like I was an inspiration to 4:44, I loved the album, it's great, and I'm glad I could be an inspiration. 4:44 sounds just like the neighborhood (Bed-Stuy), I didn't feel that way about Magna Carta."
Joey Bada$$ says JAY-Z was inspired by him to make "4:44" (3:47 mark)
