Joe Budden is being sought by the New York Police Department for reportedly stealing his girlfriend's cellphone on Monday, August 18, in Manhattan. As we previously reported, Joe is also accused of beating up the woman on the same night. Pictures showing the 25-year old woman's injuries emerged earlier this week. Her phone was reportedly taken during the assault, according to Page Six.
“Apparently there was an argument over pictures she was posting online with other guys,” a law enforcement said of the argument. “She was going to nightclubs and he didn’t like that.”
Police were said to be investigating the incident. This morning NYPD's Twitter page indicated the Slaughterhouse rapper was wanted for theft.
**UPDATE** August 26
Joe Budden is facing his current legal issue head on. The rapper spoke with NBC 4 New York from his New Jersey home on Monday, August 25.
He let them know that he voluntarily turned himself in to police and was later released. The "Pump It Up" hit maker says the cellphone he's accused of stealing is in his name.
"Whatever needs to be done to rectify the situation I'm more than willing to comply with," he told NBC 4.
