KarmaloopTV caught up with Jay Rock on the eve of the release of his new album 'Follow Me Home' to chop it up about what he's been up to lately.
The Watts, California rapper talked about his group Black Hippy, which consists of himself, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul and Kendrick Lamar. Jay said the group is working on it's debut album at the end of 2011 or early 2012.
He also talked about gangs being a positive influence on the youth.
"I think with gangs it could be a positive outlook because all it takes is for the older guys to come school these younger guys on the right road," Jay said. "I got big homies that have been through the same things that I've been through and they made it out and changed their life. And they come back and snatch young cats up and lecture them and let them know this is the right way to do it. That's what a gang is supposed to -- family protecting family."
'Follow Me Home' is in stores now.
