Former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle is about to becomes an inmate and his wife, Katie Fogle, is taking their two children and filing for divorce.
The soon-to-be ex-couple were married in 2010.
"Obviously, I am extremely shocked and disappointed by the recent developments involving Jared," McLaughlin said in a statement to the media."I am in the process of seeking a dissolution of the marriage. My focus is exclusively on the well-being of my children," her statement continued. "Neither I nor my family will have any further comment on the matter. I appreciate respect for my family’s privacy during this difficult time."
As we previously reported, Jared, 37, agreed to a plea deal on Wednesday, August 19. In exchange he'll be sentenced anywhere from a minimum of 5 years to a maximum of 12 1/2 years in prison.
He's charged with one count of travel to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor and one count of distribution and receipt of child pornography. He must also register as a sex offender.
In addition he will have to pay pay $1.4 million in restitution to 14 minor victims, who will each receive $100,000.
Some of the videos found on Jared's computer by authorities during a July raid on his Indianapolis home depicted female and male children as young as 6-years old. He also engaged in sexual acts with minors.
After a paid encounter with one 17-year old, Jared told her he would pay her an additional fee if she could find him more underage girls. Saying "that he would accept a 16-year-old girl, while stating that the younger the girl, the better."
