A jailhouse letter written by Tupac Shakur to a Death Row Records employee in 1995 is up for sale. The asking price is $225,000.
At the time the music legend was incarcerated in the Clinton Correctional Facility for the alleged 1993 sexual assault of a woman at the Parker Meridien hotel in New York City.
The rapper denied involvement in the assault during an appearance on the Arsenio Hall Show, saying the accusation was especially hurtful because he had been raised around only women and for a female to say that he took something from them was difficult for him to deal with
In the prison letter, 2Pac wrote that he had evolved from "Thug Life" to being a "Boss Playa."
"I did not begin Thug Life, I just personified it," he wrote. "I couldn't stop it if I tried. But in my heart the thug nigga has advanced to be a Boss Playa. So no, Thug Life is not dead, but in my heart it is. U must play the game, not let the game play u. A regular Playa plays women, a Boss Playa plays life. A Boss Playa is a thinker, a leader, a builder, a moneymaker, a souljah, a teacher and most of all, a Man! I want all my homiez to know there is another level."
