J. Cole was one of the in-studio guests on Wednesdays edition of MTV's RapFix Live. He spoke on collaborating with Kendrick Lamar, TLC and 50 Cent on his album, Born Sinner.
"That was incredible (working with 50). The features on this album, a lot of them I was blessed," Cole said. "We're in a day and age where you just send (a song) away and it comes back. I actually recorded with TLC. I got T-Boz in L.A. and Chili in Atlanta. With 50 it was the same thing. He just happened to be in L.A. and I had that song and I was only humming the melodies. I just stole 50 Cent melodies and I was just humming it on the hook. I was like, 'man if 50 do this hook it would be so amazing.' I played him the joint and he said, 'I could tell you were thinking about me when you did the melodies.' So he just sat and filled in the words. I got see 50 Cent literally write. It was a wild experience with 50 in there."
