Video After The Jump

I came across this video and found it interesting from a couple of standpoints.

1. This 70-year old teacher is reading the lyrics to 50 Cent's song "P.I.M.P" to what looks like high school students.

2. She repeatedly uses the word "n*gger" while reading the lyrics.

If you have heard the song or read the lyrics it is clear that 50 is saying the word "n*gga" and not "n*gger," yet this teacher seems to go out of her way to emphasize the "er."

A couple of her students seem to find it odd that she is using the word.

Yes, rappers and African Americans use the word "n*gga" a lot in songs and in general conversations with each other, but not with a racist intent.

On the other hand "n*gger" is generally considered to be a racist term.

Is this teacher out of line for using the word "n*gger?" Or are African Americans being hypocritical for thinking it is OK to call each other the slang version of the word?

Also, is there any reason these lyrics should be read in a classroom at all?
