Video After The Jump
This story sounds way too familiar. A rapper performs in an unfamiliar city, gets his chain snatched and said jewelry is held for ransom.
That's exactly what happened to Young 22 f.k.a. 22 Savage. The Baton Rouge artist was recently yanked off of the stage in San Antonio and had his bling taken.
The jewelry is now in the hands of a local artist by the name of Chris P, who says 22 can have it back if he coughs up $20,000.
If you're not in the rap game you're probably thinking 22's chain should have been insured and buying another one is an easy solution. But in this business your chain is like a trophy or a badge of honor. Having it taken could damage your career.
"That nigga done," P told Say Cheese TV, of 22's career. "He done 'cause he came in the game already. You took another man name [and] ran with it. And you was talking tough back and forth. Talking all this savage shit. Showing choppers and saying pull up. You doing all that and you come to San Antonio and get handled."
