R&B singer Ginuwine, real name Elgin Baylor Lumpkin, has fallen on hard financial times. According to his lawyer, Bruce Beckner, he'll soon have to file for bankruptcy.

“Mr. Lumpkin is very close to declaring bankruptcy,” Ginuwine’s lawyer, Bruce Beckner, told the New York Daily News. “He owes my firm a ton of money and a bunch of other people a ton of money. He owes Uncle Sam 300-odd thousand dollars in back income taxes.”

Buckner says his client's divorce from Solé has contributed heavily to the 44-year old's money problems. He's also facing a lawsuit from Robert Reives, the executive producer of his certified double platinum-selling 1996 debut album, The Bachelor.

Reives claims he's owed $1.25 million in royalties from a 5-album deal Ginuwine signed with Sony. He's asking the court to award him $250,000.

Ginuwine believes Reives claim is outside the statute of limitation and therefore isn't valid. The two sides will argue their case in Manhattan Federal Court Monday.
