Frank Ocean's father failed in his bid to prove his son had defamed him by labeling him a bigot.
Calvin Cooksey filed a defamation lawsuit against Ocean in February, claiming that a story the singer posted on Tumblr in 2016, had damaged his financial opportunities in film and music.
"I was 6 years old when I heard my dad call our transgender waitress a faggot as he dragged me out of a neighborhood diner saying we wouldn't be served because she was dirty," Ocean had written.
Cooksey was seeking over $14.5 million in damages.
TMZ reports that the "Novacane" crooner, born Christopher Breaux, faced off with his father in a Los Angeles courtroom on Tuesday, October 17. The judge in the case ruled that Cooksey failed to prove he had been defamed.
"It was a sad case, but we are glad that it ended in Frank's favor and that it is over,' Ocean's attorney told TMZ.
