The show that launched the careers of Fantasia Barrino, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood and Ruben Studdard is ending after it's upcoming 15th season.
Fox announced on Monday, May 11, that American Idol will be taken off the air following the new season, which begins in January.
Current judges, Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr., and host Ryan Seacrest will all return for the final season.
The show couldn't right the ship once ratings begin to slip following Simon Cowell's departure, despite trying a variety of new hosts that included Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, fans started to lose interest.
