A deadly new drug that eats it's users flesh from the inside out has made it's way from Russia to the United States. The drug Krokodil was given the name because it's users develop scale-like skin.

The first two cases have been reported in Arizona.

"We've had 2 cases this past week that have occurred in Arizona," Dr. Frank Lovecchio, of the Banner Poison Control Center, told Arizona's CBS 5. "As far as I know this is the first cases in the United States that are reported. We're extremely frightened. When [users] do it repeatedly the skin sloughs. It causes hardening of their skin, much like a crocodile's skin. It's a good way to kill your skin."

The drug was created as a cheap way to get a heroin-like high. It costs 10 to 20 times less than the real thing. It's created by mixing codeine with gasoline or oil. Users then filter it and inject the concoction into their bodies.

Documentaries about the drug and it's deadly consequences can be found all over YouTube. How it made it's way to the U.S. is a mystery.

Doctors are worried that this could spread across the U.S.

"Where there's smoke there's fire," Lovecchio says. "And we're afraid that there's going to be more and more cases."
