Comedian Charlie Murphy lost his wife recently, after she lost a long battle with cancer. According to AOL's BlackVoices, Tisha Taylor Murphy suffered from breast cancer for the past two years, and passed away on Sunday (December 14). In a statement released through his publicist, Charlie Murphy appreciates the support from friends and fans, but asks for privacy in this difficult time. "Tisha Taylor Murphy, wife of comedian and actor Charlie Murphy, passed away peacefully on Sunday, with family at her side after facing the challenges of cancer for the past two years," the statement read. "The Murphy family appreciates all the support they have received from friends and fans and requests privacy during this very difficult time." According to reports, Tisha died in her sleep in the couple's home in New Jersy. Her and Charlie had been married since August 1997. They have two children together -- Eva and Xavier. Charlie Murphy is the brother of fellow comedian and actor Eddie Murphy. He's best known for his roles on "Chappelle's Show" and the hood parody movie "CB-4."
